INTERVIEW WITH APPRENTICES: WAREHOUSE LOGISTICS

Trainees share their experiences in warehouse logistics

Apprenticeship at Halfar - Interview with Linus

Good young talent is essential for a company to ensure its future success. That's why we at Halfar train young people in many different professions. For example as warehouse logistics experts. One of the new apprentices in this area is Linus. In the fifth part of " Apprentices in interview", he talks about his experiences and impressions.

More about apprenticeships at Halfar

Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship after school and not go to university?

I initially started studying landscape architecture in 2015. However, I quickly realised that I enjoyed practical work more, so I looked around for an apprenticeship in logistics.

How did you hear about an apprenticeship at Halfar?

I found out about Halfar through the employment agency.

How long do you expect your apprenticeship to last?

My apprenticeship as a warehouse logistics specialist is scheduled to last three years. So I will be finished in 2021.

What were your first impressions at Halfar?

What struck me immediately was the particularly friendly and informal atmosphere between all the employees. Everyone gets on really well, both in logistics and with all other colleagues. The helpfulness and willingness to integrate a new colleague into the team was really special. I've been coming to work with a good feeling since day one.

What activities have you been able to learn and apply so far?

As I've been at Halfar for seven months now, I've already learnt and been able to take on a number of tasks. These include tasks such as picking goods, loading and unloading lorries and preparing production materials. I try to support my colleagues as much as possible.

What are your plans for your time at Halfar?

I hope that I can learn other tasks. It would also be nice to be taken on after my apprenticeship.

What has been your favourite part so far?

My favourite thing is picking goods for dispatch. I had a lot of fun doing that in a previous internship. But I have to say that I've enjoyed all the tasks so far. That shows me that I've made the right choice.

What have you liked least so far?

There are certainly certain tasks in every department that are less enjoyable. In my case, for example, this applies to bagging bags.

What makes Halfar a good training company?

Definitely the working atmosphere and the varied tasks that you can take on during your apprenticeship. Thank you for the interview, Linus! We wish you continued success in your apprenticeship.
